Description
The Company
My client is a Switzerland-based asset management firm (FINMA licensed and regulated), focused on delivering total returns across a broad range of asset classes, including fixed income, equity, and multi-asset strategies. It has significant assets under management which continue to grow.
The fixed income team operates with a total return approach, unconstrained by benchmarks, and invests globally across the capital structure, utilizing both derivatives (rates, credit, options) and cash bonds. The team consists of five members: two performance credit investment professionals, a macro quant strategist, a special situations investment professional, and the team head.
Currently, there are three credit strategies in place: Defensive Credit, Credit Opportunities, and Special Situations Credit. This covers the whole investment spectrum from cross-over credit opportunities to restructurings.
Additionally, the equity team comprises of five members focused on global equities. There is also a global macro portfolio manager.
The Role
The company now seeks a Senior Credit Analyst to join its expanding fixed income team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit investing, with a focus on leveraged finance and high yield, and a proven track record of providing long investment recommendations.
Experience with emerging market analysis and a strong understanding of macroeconomic drivers, such as growth, inflation, and monetary policy, are advantageous. Knowledge of multiple sectors and companies is also a plus.
This role offers the potential for quick progression into a risk-taking position, such as a Portfolio Manager.
Job description
▪ Generate investment ideas within the high yield space and actively engage in challenging fellow team members during investment committee discussions.
▪ Support to the team’s macro (top-down) research efforts.
▪ Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the fixed income investment process.
Requirements
▪ Preference given to candidates with buy-side experience.
▪ A minimum of 7 years of experience in leveraged finance, with wide and deep sector expertise.
▪ A degree in economics or a related field from a top-tier university, with excellent academic performance.
▪ Understanding of macroeconomic drivers, including growth, inflation, and monetary policy.
▪ CFA designation (completed or in progress) is an advantage.
▪ Fluency in English is required.
▪ Ability to thrive in a small team environment.
▪ A strong desire to contribute to building a best-in-class investment process.
